Ratan Jyoti Netralaya has a well furnished and fully air-conditioned conference hall on 1st floor of the building which has a capacity to accommodate about 200 participants. This has been constructed with a view to organize conferences at national and international level and share knowledge of the experts in various fields of medical sciences.

Such conferences are of paramount importance as these keep on updating knowledge of the professionals and prompt the doctors and surgeons to use the latest technology with its advantages.

The process of development in any field is associated with the research and it is beyond imagination to fancy development without research. Viewing this, Ratan Jyoti Netralaya has a separate Research unit headed by Dr B. Shukla who has more than 40 years experience.

Recently, Dr Shukla attended an international symposium in Germany on Ocular Trauma and presented two papers and chaired one session. He also received Dr D.N.S. Chaudhary award and a gold medal for his research paper on keratoplasty.

He also presented scientific paper in IMA conference at Gwalior and in international conference on stress management which were highly appreciated by the participants. Over the years, Dr Purendra Bhasin has done a lot in the field of research by developing new technique and surgical skill and demonstrating the same in national and international conferences.

Recently in the month of Nov. 2008, he was invited by Delhi Ophthalmic Society for live surgery and previously in Patna by Bihar Ophthalmic Society. As a part of research & development, we are planning to continue research and development work in Ocular Trauma and Goniometry.
