Dr. Purendra Bhasin, being one of the most renowned Eye Surgeon, has performed over 100000 Phacoemulsification Surgeries, 35000 cataract & Intraocular Surgeries and 12000 other Anterior Segment Surgeries like pediatric IOL Glaucoma, Combined & Triple Procedure, Scleral Fix PCIOL, Keratoplasty, Squint Correction etc. in the last 20 years.

He graduated from Gajra Raja Medical College affiliated to Jiwaji University, Gwalior in the year 1988 and in the year 1993 he was awarded with Master Degree in Ophthalmology from the same institution.

He has completed Fellowship from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai and Fellowship from ILADEVI CATARACT & IOL INSTITUTE under Dr Abhay R. Vasavada.
Dr. Purendra Bhasin has held various positions:

Dr. Bhasin has been presenting his work at various National & International conferences being invited as Faculty speaker, to perform Live Surgeries and to conduct Instruction courses in his area of interests: Phaco & Refractive surgery.

Dr Priyamvada Bhasin, daughter of late Justice Hargovind Mishra, and wife of Dr Purendra Bhasin belongs to a highly reputed family who did her schooling from Padma Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior. She graduated herself from Gajra Raja Medical College in General Medicine and Surgery in the year 1988 and in the year 1993, she was awarded with Master Degree in Ophthalmology from the same institution affiliated to Jiwaji University, Gwalior.
With the quest to excel, both Dr Purendra Bhasin and Priyamvada Bhasin joined Arvind Eye Hospital, Madurai which is a Research and Training Institute where they were awarded fellowships in General Ophthalmology - Anterior Segment Microsurgery and Retina & Vitreous Surgery respectively. She has performed more than 4000 Retinal Detachment & nearly 1100 other complicated Retina Surgeries, about 8200 Anterior Segment Surgeries, 25000 Retina Laser, Fundus Fluorescein Angiography.

Prof. Dr. B. Shukla is a highly qualified doctor. Graduated from Nagpur University in 1959, he pursued his MS, MAMS, FICS, FACS, FAMS and was the first person to be awarded Ph.D. in ophthalmology in India. He underwent advanced training in Glaucoma & Cornea, squint, Ocular Trauma, ERG, Contact Lens, Oculoplasty, IOL, Community Medicine, Paediatric Ophthalmology, eye banking, keratoplasty, retinal detachment, Hospital Administration etc at various institutions.

He held various responsible positions throughout his career like Demonstrator, Reader and Professor in Ophthalmology in GRMC Gwalior.

  • President and Vice President, All India Ophthalmic Society
  • Founder Secretary, President and now the Patron of Ocular Trauma Society of India

Dr. B. Shukla has been awarded with Life Time Achievement Award of All India Ophthalmological Society & Life Time Achievement Award of N.S.P.B., M.P. He has also received Dr. Siva Reddy International Award and 10 other National Awards. He has written one book and edited 2 books on Ocular Trauma. Till date, he has given more than 100 talks in 30 international conferences. He has also published 40 papers in National and International Journals. 
He donated the eyes of his grandmother and did corneal grafting himself and also donated the eyes of his wife, father, brother and sister-in-law.

Dr. Dhanajay Shukla

Dr. Dhananjay Shukla completed his post graduation in Ophthalmology at G.R. Medical College, Gwalior in 1994.  He joined Aravind Eye Hospital and Post graduate Institute, Madurai for a Fellowship in IOL and Anterior Segment Microsurgery in 1995; he subsequently completed another Fellowship in Retina-Vitreous Service at the same centre, and joined rank as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in 1998.  He continued there, and served as a Professor of Ophthalmology & Consultant, Retina-Vitreous Service (2007- 2012). 
He has been the Section Editor, Retina at the Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology since June 2011.  He has contributed more than 50 free papers, posters and video presentations, and a similar number of invited lectures at national and international conferences.  He has 75 publications (63 as the corresponding author) in indexed, peer-reviewed journals, including Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, RETINA, etc.  He is a reviewer for several international journals including Ophthalmology, RETINA, British Journal of Ophthalmology, etc.  He has authored 14 chapters in various textbooks, including one on Eales’ disease in “Retina,” Ryan SJ, editor-in-chief, 5th ed., 2013
He was co-investigator in two multi-center randomized clinical trials of drugs Ozurdex and Macugen, the first of which was published in 2010.  He has featured in Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine & Healthcare (2007), Who’s Who in Asia (2007, 2012), Who’s Who in the World (2009), and Who’s Who in Medicine & Health Care (2009, 2011).


Dr. Kamalpreet Likhari

Dr. Kamalpreet Likhari completed her MBBS studies at G.R. Medical College, Gwalior in 1993.  She then joined Aravind Eye Hospital and Postgraduate Institute, Madurai for a 2-year Diploma in Ophthalmology in 1998.  She completed her diploma on 1st attempt in 2000 and enrolled in the postgraduate course Diplomate of National Board of Examinations (DNB). She passed her DNB examination in 1st attempt in 2002, and joined as Medical Officer at the same institute.  In 2007, she completed a Fellowship in Orbit & Oculoplasty Service, and was appointed Assistant Professor & Consultant, Orbit & Oculoplasty Service, Aravind Eye Hospital & Postgraduate Institute, Madurai, in Jan 2008. She served as Chief Medical Officer In-charge of Thirumangalam Community Centre, Madurai (branch of Aravind Eye Hospital) from Jan 2008 to Dec 2008. She was Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital & Postgraduate Institute, Madurai from 2010 to August 2012. During her Aravind tenure, she has performed several thousand cataract surgeries of varying complexity, besides the subspecialty surgeries like plastic, reconstructive, and destructive procedures of orbit, eyelids and tear ducts including therapeutic and cosmetic use of Botox injections.  She has also been a designated trainer for short-term trainees in small incision cataract surgery and phacoemulsification.  She has contributed several free papers, posters, video presentations, and invited lectures at national and state level conferences.  She was co-investigator in Aurolac Study: A prospective clinical evaluation of dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) with lacrimal intubation conducted in Aravind Eye Hospital.


Dr. Manoj Saxena

Dr Manoj Saxena did his M.B.B.S. degree and post graduation from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior in the year 1989 and 1991 respectively. Having completed his post graduation, he joined Sitapur Eye Hospital, Sitapur (UP) and worked in various branches of the said hospital particularly at Bareily and Nainital till 1996. Thereafter he joined Thakkar Hospital, Nagpur and worked there for 2 years upto 1998. After this, he started his own private practice at Gwalior and associated himself with Charitable Eye Hospitals. Till now, he has performed more than 20000 surgeries including IOL and Glaucoma surgeries. He has recently joined Ratan Jyoti Netralaya as Consultant- General Ophthalmology and looking after the chariable work of the Ratan Jyoti Charitable Foundation.

He is a life member of All India Ophthalmic Society, M.P. Ophthalmic Society and now  holding the post of Secretary, Divisional Ophthalmic Society, Gwalior.

Dr. Nihit Parimal

He has completed Long term fellowship in Comprehensive ophthalmology from Aravind Eye Hospital, Theni, 2014. He post graduated as DOMS (Ophthalmology) from Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Sitapur in 2011. He received the degree of MBBS from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, Assam in 2006.
He has done over 1500 SICS, 100 DCR Surgeries, 200 ND YAG Laser Capsuiotomy and 150 ECCE. He has performed several Phacoemulsification, DCT Surgery, Fundus Fluorescein Angiography, Pan Retinal Photocoagulation, Laser Peripheral Iridotomy and other surgeries in his career.
He has assisted in complicated cataract Surgeries, Various types of Squint surgeries, Glaucoma Filtration Surgeries, D.C.R. and D.C.T. Surgeries, Entropion surgery, Penetrating Keratoplasty, Amniotic Membrane Grafting, Repair of ocular trauma, Enucleation and Preservation of Donor eyes. He has also assisted various anterior segment laser procedures viz, Nd:YAG Capsulotomy, iridotomy, IOLsweeping membranectomy and posterior segment laser viz. Panretinal photocongulation, Macular focal & grid laser and other Retinal Surgeries.
He has attended CME on eye & Diabetes at Deen Bhandhu Netra Chikitsalaya, Ayodhya and School of Optometry & orthoptics at Sitapur Eye Hospital. He has also attended several Annual Conferences of different ophthalmological societies.

To assist the doctors/surgeons, we have a team of well-trained and experienced following paramedical ophthalmic technicians, and their jobs involve refraction, syringing, NCT, Keratometry, A-Scan Biometry, Computerized Perimetry, Synoptophore, Contact lens fittings & Trial and maintenance of Ophthalmic Instruments and equipment.
RJN also has a team of well trained OT assistants who constantly strive to deliver high quality support function in our Operation Theaters

  3. Mr. Shivakant Upadhyay, Diploma in Ophthalmic Technique, has over 8 years experience and has been part of team RJN for over 10 years now.
  4. Mr. Rai Singh, has a Diploma in Optometry and Refraction, has over 10 years of experience and has been a part of team RJN for over 6 years now.
  5. Mr. Dharmendra Kumar, Diploma in Optometry and Refraction, has experience of over 7 years and has been a part of team RJN for over 6 years now.
  6. Mr. Shailendra Singh Saini, has a Diploma in Optometry and Refraction has over 9 years of experience and has been a part of team RJN for over 6 years now.
  7. Md. Khalid, Diploma in optometry, from Institute of Paramedical Studies, Lucknow and certification as Eye Bank Manager.
  8. Mr. Nalin Singh Bhagel, Bachelor of optometry from NIMS University, Jaipur completed FCLI from Dr. Shroff Charity eye hospital, Delhi, has experience of over 6 years in optometry.
  9. Mr. Ashish Shrivastava, Diploma from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal and Bachelor of Optometry from Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Pune, completed his fellowship from LVPEI, Vijay and has 2 years of experience in optometry.
